no se...

Okay, so...
I really need to get better at writing in this, I know. :) These past 5 weeks have just felt so intense. They have been amazing, no doubt. Just learning how to adapt. I feel like God has stretched me more in the past few weeks than I have ever been stretched in my life. I have also learned (and am learning) so much more about myself and who God has made me to be. I often look around me, and think...."wow...am i really living in Mexico?!" Is this real? Then someone offers me a fried grasshopper and I am reminded that "yes, this is definitely real." :) yes, I ate a grasshopper. jaja....
it was crunchy and salty. hahaha. not too bad...i think part of the leg got stuck in my teeth though, so that was pretty gross. Grasshoppers aren't even the craziest thing I've ate so far...umm...I'd say the goat intestine soup, yeah........I just shut my eyes and pretend I am eating chocolate cake. :-) That is the only way I can survive, seriously.
This town of Tlaxiaco is so beuatiful, I cannot even describe with words, so I will post pictures. ;-)
This is the market town, it is like a mini-city. We are surrounded by villages, the villages are mostly the mixteco indians..some of them speak spanish, but a lot of them speak different dialects of mixtec. I actually havent been to a village yet, but I can't wait to go! They are a lot less open in the villages though, and a LOT less into modern culture. Many of the villages don't even have electricity. The people are very simple here, although here in Tlaxiaco, they are slowly becoming more modern. I found a really cute coffee shop yesterday!! Anyway, the village people come here every saturday to sell things. It is TOTAL chaos....I LOVE it!! So many people...everywhere. They have everything....vendors from other parts of mexico come too, so they sell things from mp3 players to traditional clothing.
On Tuesdays and Thursdays I teach english classes at one of the local schools with four other people. It is so amazing....I am already starting to fall in love with some of the kids.

alright ...more later....love!
